$38,000,000 FM (Factory Mutual), UL (Underwriters Laboratories), and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) qualified food processing facility with temperature-controlled potato storage and two new production lines.
CSC served as Owner’s Representative with design-build oversight for a McCain Foods processing program in Smithton, Tasmania. Scope centered on a temperature-controlled potato storage warehouse and two new production and packaging lines, with mechanical design focused on extending product storage times while minimizing weight loss. CSC led design coordination, value engineering, budget development and forecasting, bid documents and contractor evaluations, safety adherence, special inspections for steel and concrete including tilt-up panels, and day-to-day construction management. Responsibilities also included schedule control, QA/QC, and civil upgrades for new employee parking and utilities. The project achieved a 0.00 Recordable Incident Rate.
